Adam's Peak

Adam’s Peak is a famous mountain in Sri Lanka. It is also known as Sri Pada. This mountain is about 2,243 meters high than sea level . 

Adam’s Peak is a very special place to Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims and they are respect this mountain. Buddhists believe the footprint at the top belongs to Lord Buddha. Hindus believe it is the footprint of Lord Shiva. Muslims and Christians believe it is the footprint of Adam. Because of this, many pilgrims climb the mountain.

The journey to the top is not easy. There are thousands of steps to climb. Most people climb at night. They want to see the beautiful sunrise from the top. The sunrise at Adam’s Peak is very beautiful and special. The shadow of the mountain looks like a triangle in the morning light.

The area around Adam’s Peak is full of natural beauty. There are forests, rivers, and many kinds of plants and animals. It is a peaceful and calm place.
